Amsterdam Sinfonietta is joined by the English tenor James Gilchrist and the principal horn player of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Jasper de Waal in performances of Britten’s most captivating and mystical work: the Serenade. Gilchrist’s slender and expressive voice proves to be ideal for the performance of baroque and English music. Sinfonietta’s artistic director, Candida Thompson will perform Bach’s jubilant E major concerto. This kaleidoscopic programme will prove to be the ideal showcase for the orchestra.
